Student Achievement

Education isn’t just an academic journey, but a spiritual one as well. Part of student achievement at the K-6 level then is to begin teaching our children about how body, mind, and spirit come together in their studies and in their everyday lives.

The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board combines the Ministry of Education’s policies and program requirements with a strong foundation in Religious Education – in this case, Born in the Spirit which is part of Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops Catechetical Series – to ensure a well-rounded education.

In the more senior grades, pathways to success begin to diverge for each student. This requires more individual learning programs and in some cases additional learning engagement to ensure they meet their academic goals and are prepared for life after high school.

The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board has designed a program based on the Ministry of Education’s policies that allows us to support each student academically within the framework of our Catholic faith.

The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board provides comprehensive education for all of our students to help them reach their full potential. Our Special Education program focuses on learning a student’s individual abilities. We tailor a learning program that enhances their strengths and addresses their challenges.
